IT Apprenticeship for Channel 4

Start date: 7th September 2020
This apprenticeship will last for 16 months
The assessment day for this role will take place on the 15th July 2020

IT SERVICE MANAGEMENT APPRENTICE
Reports to: Channel 4 Technical Service Manager.

TEAM DESCRIPTION
Channel 4 is a publically owned, privately funded UK broadcaster with a remit to produce innovative, alternative and culturally diverse television. In order to achieve its ambitions the organisations IT services need to be delivered as efficiently, effectively and reliably as possible, including the underlying technology supporting business users to deliver their services and the platforms delivering TV and digital content to the public.

The Channel 4 Regional Service Management team, part of the wider IS Operations team, has an important role in ensuring user experience is delivered as expected within current contracts, assisting all users to get more from the technology, identifying and leading areas of service enhancement, and supporting the roll out of new technology with a particular focus on the user experience and benefit to business.
This role will be based in the Leeds Head Office but will require some travel to the other locations of London, Glasgow, Manchester and Bristol.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
During your time at Channel 4 you will be asked to, amongst other things;
  • Manage contacts from users, responding to queries, requests, escalations and coordinating service tasks across the team.
  • Managing the logistics and administration of assets and consumables across the regional sites.
  • Undertake data analysis and present the information in interesting ways to help with data and service assurance, service improvements, support project delivery and a range of decision making.
  • Review performance information, quantifiable and qualitative to identify and prioritise areas for improvement.
  • Support project development and delivery assisting with the development and delivery of communications, updating user guidance and knowledge articles.
  • Represent Channel 4 in meetings with internal and external suppliers and stakeholder
  • Assist in writing and updating of policies related to the use and management of technology.
  • Engage delivery stakeholders from across the organisation and external suppliers to develop support models, associated processes, information flows, service descriptions and refine roles and responsibilities.

Level 3 Digital Support Technician

You will have the chance to see from the inside how Channel 4 uses technology to deliver its world-renowned service and get to be part of the IS Operations team involved in changing how the Channel will deliver in the future. Over the two years you will gain significant knowledge and be directly involved in IT Service and Project management. We will train you in the skills required to manage a complex technology service and environment, setting you on the path to success in one of the most sought after industries.

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our collaborative team within the Content and Distribution area.

What this role will entail...
We are looking for a new Product Manager to join ITV Content Supply & Distribution, to help us build, run and integrate products that manage our content rights. Our teams work across the catalogue, scheduling, asset management and content distribution domains. This role is focused on developing products to manage our rights to content on linear and non-linear platforms.
Delivering the most value for ITV from our efforts is paramount. Our product managers will work with senior members of the division, with business and operational stakeholders to understand the problems that need to be solved. Working with software engineers and suppliers, you will develop and manage the product roadmap to ensure the product backlog is aligned to broader initiatives and has validated features, built with as little waste as possible.

Good communication skills are needed to ensure the strategy and outcomes are understood as well as keeping the product team motivated. The right balance between business and technical strategy needs to be achieved and any tradeoffs understood.
Along with domain knowledge, we value a good understanding of the technology that underpins the product, their future roadmaps and suitability to ITV in light of the broader technology strategy. You will work to ensure the evolution of product at ITV to meet the needs of a rapidly changing digital media landscape.

The ideal candidate:
  • Experienced in working in or with scrum/kanban product teams
  • Knowledgeable of rights management domain value drivers
  • Experienced in rights management technologies and operational processes
  • Experienced building relationships with business peers and management
  • Knowledgeable of business strategy formation, business capability assessment, value management and business case creation
  • Experienced in consultancy disciplines including business process analysis, requirements definition and vendor evaluations
  • Experienced in eliciting requirements from business stakeholders and creating feature requests with acceptance criteria
  • Experienced communicating concepts, strategy and ideas to stakeholders at all levels within organisations, including oral and written presentations, proposals, specifications, and reports
  • Knowledgeable of the industry partners, competitors and technologies.

The UK’s leading Local TV network, is recruiting for a Commercial Administrator Apprentice based in our Head Office in Leeds. You will fully support the business development/commercial teams in day to day operations.


Summary:
Local TV Ltd., the UK’s leading City TV network, is on the look-out for a Commercial Administrator Apprentice to take an important role in our Central Commercial Team!
You’ll work with colleagues across the business – primarily our commercial and business development teams to our city teams in our eight regions and central Editorial, Broadcast, Digital. The work is fast-paced and varied. Alongside work we also like to have fun (whaaaat?!) from the LOLympics, to lunchtime quizzes and even the Bell of Shame (for those who partake in the sinful act of a monobrew) we make sure there is a balance between good work and a good laugh.

Main Purpose of the Job:
As part of the UK’s leading City TV network of television channels, you will work closely with our Head of Commercial Operations offering support to our teams in creative and administrative duties. We are looking for someone that can support and assist with duties, from translating client briefs to creative presentations to maintenance of our internal CRM system, producing reports and analysis. Whilst ensuring that work is always produced to a high standard. You will also assist with providing accurate industry compliant campaign booking forms and communicating key information to relevant teams/departments.
It’s a varied role and an exciting opportunity to become a pivotal member of the team who keeps the cogs turning day-to-day.
